HI: I don't have any Pictus at this moment, but I want to get 5 of them for my 75 gallon tank. I have a 110 gallon, that when set up I will transfer them to it. How important is the PH for these fish if I slowly acclimate them using the drip method? My water parameters are as follows.
temp 78, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, ph 8.2 using softened water. Will the Pictus be ok with the high ph? Tank is cycled but I haven't had the time yet to visit my lfs. The ph measured at the faucet is 8.2, out of the river that our water is taken, is 8.2, out of the lake that feeds the river the ph is 8.2. I have an R.O filter and am thinking that I need to use R.O. water for the Pictus. Any thought? Thanks for the advice.
