Pl*co follow-up.

Assumign you keep only a small bioload or are willing to do massive constant water changes. Huge 18 inch plecos produce a ton of waste. If all you kept with it was a couple of cichlids then that would be great. But if you wanted plants at all then it would be a nightmare.

I already have the pl*co(a little over four years), I just always assumed he would be fine in there, its just him and a tiger oscar(~12"), no plants. I was just surprised when someone said that it would outgrow a tank that size.

Well it will be potentially 18 inches and super poop factory. A 90 gallon can work but it will require a lot of diligence in making sure the water quality is kept high. An oscar is just as much of a wste producer. So frquent large water changes will be needed. But it can be done. High levels of waste could lead to hole in the head disease in your oscar. Read up on that now before it happens.

Thanks, I have read up on Hole In the head desease. I do fairly large weekly water changes and have a fluval 404 and an AC500 helping out.
