I'm currently running DIY co2 and am very pleased with the system. I added a drop checker to check my co2 levels and the indicator solution is green. Not a lime green, but a medium-dark green. The drop checker is located near the diffuser. Do you think I should move it to the other side of my 40 gallon breeder instead? Also, if any solution gets into the tank, is that stuff toxic to fish? I'm trying to be really careful with the drop checker.

I think that you are supposed to put the drop checker on the other side of the tank so you can gauge whether the CO2 is circulating properly. I'm not sure about the toxicity of the solution.

Somehow I missed this. I had my drop checker on the same sude as my diffuser, but then I was convinced that that was "cheating". Are you still getting good readings after moving your drop checker?

I have sometimes found the gradual changes in drop checker color hard to read, particularly if I had placed it too close to a green plant, in which case it tended to mimic the plant's coloration to some degree.

The drop checker is on the other side of the tank and I'm getting green readings. I've seen it blue before when the yeast got killed off, but it's back to green, so I can definitely tell the difference between blue and green. Coincidentally, the corymbosas plants i bought from you earlier are doing well, and also the little reinecki red plant is doing nicely as well!
