Placement of Canister Intake and E-J Heaters

I got the new 60 gallon tank (it wasnt all just talk, as some speculated,) And it's been setup since the 25th of Dec. Anyway, I've been gone for most of the time - I dunno if it has cycled or not, but there are 2 plants and one rock tank (with a light coating of algae,)vfrom my overstocked tank in there. Anyway, since this isnt about cycling, let me get to the point. I've placed my Eheim 2026 ProII intake at the far right bottom of tank, and the output at the left top corner. There is a Aquaclear 2 (about 150 GPH) at the top, about 6 inches left of the filter intake. One heater is to the right of the powerhead a few inches, another to the right of the output. I drew an extremely primitive drawing to help. Anyway, is the filter intake in the right place? This is my first experience with canisters, so...extremely primitive drawing
Also, is it true that the Ebo-Jager heaters can be completly submersed, (past where it says 'water line')?
 
Your picture didn't seem to work, so I'll just give what advice I can. (advice=worst vice) Anyways, I would set the intakes on opposite sides of the tank, and make sure all intakes are at least 2 to 3 inches above the substrate. If one of your intakes is near the top, that's fine too. I think your output from your canister is placed correctly across the tank from your intake. Your EJ heaters can be FULLY submerged. I was scared to do that at first too....:p Also, I would place your place your heaters at angles on the back of the tank in the lower half of the tank. It will look kind of like these slashes.....one on either side of your tank: [ \ / ] except I would angle them more towards the bottom of the tank. I have mine more horizontal than vertical. I find they heat more evenly this way. I also find it easier to hide them behind rocks and plants, etc. this way. This is all my experience and opinion. Take it as you will.;)
 
Thanks a lot for your help. I can't imagine why E-J would advertize the heaters as only partially submersable if they are fully. I will trust you here though.
So, having the intake to the Eheim on the far right corner, (the CORNER, not near the corner,) is alright?
 
I personally wouldn't place the intake IN the corner, but rather about 4 to 5 inches from it. It will be more effective this way. Also when the heaters have "water line" written on them and they are not mounted on the rim of tanks, it just means to keep the water at that level or HIGHER. That's why I lay mine down also. When I do weekly 50% water changes I never go below my heaters, so they stay fully submerged all the time....no need to turn off for water changes:)
 
Oh Oh alright. Thanks fishy, you been a great help. Any ideas for concealing the cords of the heaters?
 
I have both my air hoses and my heater hoses going up in the back two corners. The top of my heaters are towards the outer sides of the back glass with the bottoms towards the middle. My air stones I have along each side of my tank. They cover most of my sides with bubbles in my 55 gal. I even bought some cord suction cups to keep everything tucked into the corners neatly and feed my air hoses out of the small holes provided in the standard plastic canopys on either side of the back. I don't like hoses and cords in the middle of my tank at all! If you plant your tank, place the cords behind your tallest plants (or future tallest).
 
Yeah, I bought some air tube holder thingys too. Once I get my plants, I can hide the cords. I just moved around the stuff, looks fine.
 
Yeah, thanks for all the help. I took pics of the tank every few minutes while setting it up; I will post the pics on my website, (www.geocities.com/rocketman4874/home.html) by Monday night hopefully, Tuesday afternoon at the latest. It is a 60 Gallon, 48 inches long, 12 deep, and about 22 tall i think. One of the heaters can't slant down all the way due to spacial conflicts with the intake and air (remember that law, two objects cannot ocuppy the same area in space at the same time?) Its cool though, the powerhead intake is right above the top of that heater. Once again, thanks for the help.
