Just wanted to see if any of the planned inhabitants for my tank would have any issues with each other. The LFS assured me there were no worries, but I'd like the reassurance of this board and its experienced members.
Its a 46gal. Bowfront, Planted with Amazon swords, and a few other plants that didn't have names on them when I bought them (will research them later).

What I want
6 Zebra Dainos (already purchased)
2 Golden Dainos (already purchased)
4 Giant Dainos
2 White Cloud Dainos
14 Neon Tetras
4 Red Eye Tetras (already purchased)
4 Tiger Barbs (already purchased)
2 Green Barbs
4 Baby Angels (already purchased)
1 Spiny Eel (already purchased)
2 Swordtail Mollies (already purchased)

The only fish I had personal doubts about were the giant Dainos.. and the angels. I figure since the tank is heavily planted and there's a lot of drift wood for them to hide in.. they'd be fine. Also, because the angels are babies.. Im hoping they become accustomed to their tankmates before getting to be bullies.

-thanks!

that seems alot of fish to me, sure it's not going to be over stocked?

problems- angels natural pray = neons. when your angels are bigger they might eat the neons.

barbs and angels, not good as barbs are nippy active fish, they will nip at the long fins of your angels, stressing them which could kill them.

no idea about eel how big does it grow?

i would not get green barbs or the neons, return the tiger barbs. up the shoal of tetras. then have-
4 angels
6 zebra and 2 golden danios
8 red eye tetra
1 male swordtail and 3 female
1 eel (if doesn't grow to big)

that would then be happy tank. how long has tank been set up? if it's new your should only have the 6 danios to cycle the tank.

any other questions just ask.

The barbs and red eye tetras may cause problems especially with the angels, they can be wicked fin nippers and the angels have nice attractive fins to nip at . The tank you have planned is very overstocked, just the 4 angels would be almost maxing the tank out. The swordtail mollies may also be harassed by the barbs and red eyes. The spiny eel may also get too large for the tank, and if you have regular aquarium gravel in there, he's not gonna be happy as they like to burrow and much perfer sand because it is much less abrasive on their bodies. If the tank was mine, I would take everything but the angels back, grab 6 or so medium sized corydoras species, aneus or plateus are very common (bronze and peppered), get a smaller pleco species such as a bristlenose and the tank is pretty well stocked at that level. Thats my suggestion. I also hope the tank has already cycled.

No need to get the 2 white clouds. First of all they aren't danios but a minnow and they need a school of 5-6 to be happy. Plus they are cold water fish.

I would also agree with what was already said. The angels get big and will ad a large load to your tank. I wouldn't get anymore fish than you already have.

I wouldn't worry too much about the barbs although 4 is not enough. My experience is that you need at least 5. Are the green barbs you want just the barbs that look like tigers only almost all greenish-black? If so, they will school with the tigers and you should be OK. You need a group of 5 or more to protect them from themselves. I have NEVER seen them go after another type of fish although I have seen them chew on each other pretty good. I really don't know why people are so scared of putting them in their tanks because they are a lot of fun.

I've got 5 right now that are peacefully co-existing with a pair of angels.

Go buy those green barbs and good luck.

I have to agree on most comments thus far, Although many LFS's seem to think tiger barbs are OK, they will eventually snap IME and nip fins on anything they can catch. When I was young my Brother and I kept them in community tanks, they always did fine for a while and then one day started causing trouble. I won't own them anymore because of my experiences. They are fun fish to have, just not good in a tank with long fins IME. My Brother who has at least 20 years experience considers TB's as one of the most wicked little fish you can own, and has a dedicated Tiger barb tank because of this. When they grow up they will terrorize your angels IMO.
