I have been reading through some old threads and other websites. There are many different opinions and I am having questions on who's plan to go with.

Does anyone know any GOOD reputible books that can walk me throught plant selection, aquascaping and water chemistry process?

I really like the Encyclopedia of Aquarium Plants by Peter Hiscock (Barron's, ISBN 0-7641-5521-0). It's a nice overview of everything from water chemistry, fertilization, aquascaping, and plants.
Barron's also has another book by the same author, called Aquarium Designs Inspired by Nature (ISBN 0-7641-5549-0). If you're interested in biotope setups, it's a great book - talks about the natural conditions in a given area (Amazon acid pool or a darkened cave, for example) and suggests substrate, plants and fish to replicate it in the aquarium.

A second vote for Encyclopedia of Aquarium Plants by Hiscock.

I got this book to learn the basics on keeping planted tanks so I wouldn't have to ask a lot of stupid newbie questions on here. :p:

For an aquarium book it's one of the better ones I've found.
