Hi,
I'm not new to keeping fish, but I want to try my hands at keeping plants for a specific fish. Right now, I'm a plastic guy, but I'm trying to correct my ways.
My situation is this. I have a 35 gallon where I keep Belonesox Belizanus' a predatory livebearer. His companions are, well, other livebearers who's purpose is mainly to produce more fry for the consumption of the baby BB. So now, I would like to add live plants to the tank for several reasons, but primarily because they help with filtration. You see I house several other larger tanks and I'm accustomed to siphoning out the gravel, but when I do so here, I tend to lose valuable fish. Also, these species tend to reside around plants in their natural habitat. So I guess now is where I'll post that question.
I'm looking for plants that are easy to maintain, that can live in normal aquarium light or low light situations, can anyone direct me to such a specimen? Also, this tank will have salt added as it is a brackish tank, but I keep the salinity relatively low 1.005 to 1.008 max.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
