Plant Propagation - How to( Help needed)

I have these 2 plants.. don’t know the names I tried looking them up but no luck.

Can some ID them for me, and also how to propagate them..

Should I just making cutting and plant in a different part of the tank.. :help:

another question..
the plant in the second Pic (Plant 2) had lots of leaves on the bottem all close together, now it shootsing up but the leave are more far apart.. WHY?? :(

Looks like Creeping Jenny and anacharis to me (but I could be wrong on the Jenny).

I used cuttings from the top and replanted them, for the Jenny. It's a tasty snakc for SAEs as well.

Anacharis... if you take cuttings, it'll create new shoots near the base of where you planted it. And the change in leaves might be because your light density (WPG) is different from the LFS where you bought it.

Hopefully someone else will chime in, too.
 
Plant 2 is Anacharis (a.k.a. Elodea). It will grow offshoots that can be cut and replanted. I find it best to wait until the shoots are at least a few inches and cut them off as close to the offshoot as possible.
