Could anyone help please (in layman terms!)...

Tank 1 Pleco, zebra loaches, danio, upside down catfish and skirt tetra

Tank 2 gouramis, angel fish and albino corys

Many thanks :)

The pleco will eat any live plants you add. If it is a common (sailfin) unless you are running a 75+ gallon tank, you should find another home for it anyways, or return it to a store.

Other than that, plant selection usually just depends on what you want it to look like.

Are you going low light or high light?

Ferts and co2 or...?

Some plants (like anachris) survive just about any environment. Some need extra care.

OH, graphic design - I have no idea whether its low light, high light?
Sorry i rescued these and am a complete novice.
I have 2 bar lights...one is dull and one is bright thats all i know.
Im not worried about what it looks like visually, more what the fish need so will base it on that.

The pleco is in the process of being re homed - Im just finding the right person. He is far too big for the tank.
I have 4 differing plants in there currently but couldnt name one.

Sorry, thats not much help is it!

In order for plants to even survive in a tank, they need enough light. So there is no way to suggest plants for you until we know:

a) what size tank you have and
b) how many watts are over the tank.

Have a look at the fluorescent tubes and read the wattage. It should be printed on the bulb.
