interesting....ok...let's see...i have a 29 gal tank...the bulb is 17w...i need a bigger watt bulb don't i? will that bother fishies?
 
Can't get a bigger one. A second ie a double strip would be perfect. That would give you 34 watts. Plenty of light for low light plants and your fish will be perfectly happy. I have 130 watts on my 29 and the fish are just fine.
 
hmmmm....so this would mean a whole different hood then? can't put two lights on what i have currently.
