Could anyone take the time to list a few species of plants that will thrive in brackish water conditions?

Java fern does awesome. Anubias do pretty well also. A good portion of the freshwater plants do well in low brackish 1.004 and marine plants such as caleurpa do well at 1.018 and up but not a whole lot thrives in the middle

! Hope this helps and good luck!Water Sprite is also supposed to be able to tolerate up to 1.004 SG. But the middle ground really is a waste ground as far as easily available plants go. The best thing to do would be find a similar environment and cultivate your own plants.
Brackish just doesn't seem to be as important in most fish stores as freshwater and marine. hence why they sell so many brackish water fish as freshwater.
If you do a forum search there is a bunch of links to other websites with lists of which plants will tolerate what sort of brackish conditions. But in the end it can often be the luck of the draw. Sometimes some do and sometimes they don't.

I got a Marimo Ball (Cladophora aegagropila) in my 1.010 SG tank and doing great. Green and Lovely ball like a Tennis ball.

yea i keep a good deal in mine, that stuff just wont die.
i also have 2 species of java fern and a banna plant that have been doing well for about a month, and still look good.
i have a water sprite that i was just experimenting with, and thought it to be dying. however i was looking at it last night, and the majority of the plant is deterirating, except one part on the very top. this section of the plant is on the very tip, and has turned a deep florecent green, and sprouted roots. my guess is that the salinity caused the plant to change, and all the nutrients have been focused into this sprout.
i am hoping that with a little more time, that section grows and breaks off and will be able to tolorate the salinity.
