Plants turning yellow

tank is 96" x 24" x 30" tall plant is cryptocorynr wendtii lighting is 160 watts 8 hours fert is flouish weekly--Thought about leaving lights on for 12 hoyrs?

That's a 300 gallon tank? 160 watts is probably not enough to even grow crypts very well.

Flourish is only trace elements so it's not going to help you anyways, you need to dose macros, but I think lighting is your problem.

I thought it might of been lighting--ph is 7.3 temp is 77f substrate is 4" of Ecco Complete. No co2 (nor do I want any). I am waiting for another canopy then I will add more lighting. I was thinking of using VHO's --What lighting do you think gives you your best bang for the buck?

Not to hijack this thread, and I hope you don't really mind but I am having the same problem and feel it would be pointless to make another thread about the same topic. So if it is okay, I'd like to post my information as well.

Its a 20 gallon tank standard with 30 watts of lighting(flourescent) and I use Flourish weekly, also. One of my plants, (my 1st live plant to be exact) has green leaves plagued with black spots like it's dying or something. It has no name since I bought it named as "Assorted Plant". The lights are on for about 10-12 hours. I also have a bubble bar w/ airstone to increase aeration. Tank temperature is around 74-78 degrees Fahrenheit. Plenty of filtration and I do weekly water changes (I'm no beginner to the fish world at all). So what could be the problem?

Try and find out what kind of plant it is on plantgeek.net or some other plant finder database. At the Petsmart near me, "Assorted Plant" means it is non aquatic so maybe it is rotting away. It is hard to diagnose without knowing what you have.

Flourish is not a fertilizer solution as it is only trace elements, not macros. In both these cases I would say it is completely unnecessary.

So how about I use Flourish with Iron?(the name is something like that). Or how about plant plugs?
