can you aclimate platies to live in SW?

I wouldnt bother acclimating them to SW. Its not a proven fact than platies can be kept in salty water, unlike mollies which are frequently kept in SW.

Poecilia sp (mollies and guppies) can live in saltwater not xiphophorus (platies and swordtails), although swordtails are found in both fresh and brackish water.

I saw platy's in a full saltwater tank at my LFS about a month or so ago.
