just had a prego platy jump out. she was pretty dry when i found her. i removed the fry from her belly n put them in tank water. they still have yolk sacs attatched n dont move. are they dead or just not fully developed. is there any hope of saving them? also, how long are platys prego?

Sorry, no idea but I dont remember seeing any sacs on mine when they come out. I dont have a chance to watch them constantly but check them 3-4 times a day. They are aways moving when out so yours not moving is not a good sign.

My mickies run about 30 days full cycle, look preggo the last week and a half. I remove the mom to a seperate tank then return her to the breading tank.

Livebearer fry seldom survive if they still have yolk sacs attached to them.
