I have this lousy 2 gallon tank. and ma platy is in it as it has fungus on its eyes it has no heater and no filter and i am hetaing it by a light is this any gd or shood i jist leave it in the orginal tank

Just to clarify, are you asking if the 2 gallon tank can be used as a hospital tank to treat the ailing platy? The answer is that it can be--but you will have to do large, daily water changes to keep the wastes low, and monitor closely to make sure the light isn't spiking the temp too high, nor letting it get too low when it's off. Certainly not ideal, but potentially better than the main tank if the sick fish is getting picked on or if the medication you've chosen will be lethal to biofilter.

I have a Platy that had fugus on it's eyes last week. I did two 50% water changes in a week and it cleared up pretty quickly. I'm not quite sure what it was, but it never spread throughout the tank.

When I started this hobby back in August 2004, I had a 1.5 gallon tank with no heater or no filter. All it had was an air pump. I had 2 fancy Guppies in there (yes, I know, overstocked) and I did 100% water changes every two weeks. I never had any problems with the Guppies and I still have them today, but they're in a 5 gallon Eclipse tank now, with the built-in bio-wheel filter (very nice).

Just do some water changes, you'll be fine!
