Long story short I rescued this pleco about 2 years ago.. every fish I bought to go in tank dies it's so heart breaking to me I try and figure out what I'm doing wrong and I just dont get it..my pleco is declining I know hes sick It kills me everyday not knowing what I can do to help him. I lost my red tail shark just last evening and he was so big and I loved him so it shocked me when he was belly up still breathing then later that night he passed.. i only have one baby fish in there and my plenco..please help me what can i do and what disease does he have. I need answers please...water levels are good I just had it tested at petco 2 days ago. I did a 75% water change today.. but my plenco been sick for awhile. Please help

What size is the tank? What are the exact water parameters (temperature, pH, KH, GH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?) How much and how often do you normally change water? Plecos poop a lot that is not a bad sign. But you do know they grow to about 2 feet in length right?
What do you feed him? What does he do that you think he is dying right now? I can't see much wrong with him on these pics.

20 gal tank I know he should be in a bigger tank I want to find him a forever home that he can strive in. But I dont want to give him to someone when hes not healthy, that's not right. And reading are good nothing wrong with water I had it tested numerous times. What else can be wrong with him? What kind of bacterial infection can that be? What medicine should I give him to make him helathy.. and I feed him what the fish eat..he doesn't like vegetables cucumbers or wafers he likes none of that. It stays on bottom of tank and doesnt get touched so I stop wasting money on what he doesnt like..
His skin has white patches on his body his color is very very pale and all my fish I get end up dying so obviously I'm doing something wrong cause he doesnt look the same as when I first got him almost 2 years ago...I'm unintentionally killing my fish and I just dont know what im doing wrong...can it be the water where I live..?? I live in Manteca,ca and our water is very hard and not good. So i bought pillow softer which i haven't used yet cause i just put the aquarium salt in and i was told dont put two and two together...i use ph down and some other things I'll put pic of them. I'm trying to look closer and maybe there is an inside worms or fungus growing in him or on him??
Without knowing the exact test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH we won't be able to determine if the problem is water related or illness related. I do see you have the test strips, any chance you can post a pic of the test results?
