Ok I have asked this once before and didn't get to many hits on it so I changed the title to draw more attention......... Sorry.

I am in the process of restocking my 29gl long since the ice storm. It is planted with mostly low light/low tech but I do very little for my plants and they flourish nicely, some afternoon sun shines this tank, but not directly.

Plant list:
Amazon Sword
2 Red Tiger Lotus
Indian Red Sword (stays nice and burgandy)
java moss
Crypt (wendtii I think)
brazillan pennywort
frogbit
windelov java
thin leaf java
reg java
fixing to add
peacock moss
2xanubias nana
dwarf sag
maybe some more - see what will fit

In this tank I also have driftwood and a rainbow rock that makes a nice little cave.

For bottom dwellers, I was thinking about Kuhli loaches and some corys, I also have pearl blue shrimp in this tank, so I don't want anything that is going to go directly after my shrimpies.
My question on these bottom dwellers are
How many of each and what specie of the corys?

Also needing a little help or suggestions on centerpiece fish, mid and top water dwellers.

PLEASE HELP ME! I don't know.

IMO you only have room for either corys or juhlis, and corys would be much more shrimp safe. I think 6 would be a nice school size if you are staying around the 2" mark or smaller. Pandas, peppered, etc. all would work.

I think 6 of each cory & kuhlis would work fine. The adult shrimp would be safe but almost any fish will eat the babies. I never saw any cherry babies with thread fin rainbows & they have tiny mouths. I think my kuhlis may eat snail eggs or tiny ones, I have a couple adults but never any more than that.

How about honey gouramis? Maybe a male & 2 females. Or a pair of blue rams & some cardinals if you skip either the corys or kuhlis. Sparkling gouramis? Betta females? Lots of good options...

have you considered some dwarf corys like pygmy or hastatus? Ember tetras? (I can't get over them i know >.>)

Kuhlis should be fine with adult shrimps (1 inch and above) and snails. I don't know about the shrimp larva though but if the tank is heavily planted, it's hardly an issue.

MY fav top swimmers are my white clouds, never thought I would love a minnow so much !! LOL ~ but mine are aweseom !! great colors. and they mostly stay at the top, so much so ~ that when I am taking a net to catch debree, I ALWAYS get a few, and have to let them out ..LOL ~~ and I love neon tetras, But with your shrimp ...IDK ~~~~ I would also say ember tetras, endlers , but then again , I belive after I have done this time & time again, you will get MORE shrimp in a smaller tank, with just moss and hardly any feedings, like every 3 days . this is the master plan to BREED shrimp, if you dont care abotu how many babies, then leave then where they are, and just be careful . I would think A loach would DEF eat shrimp, I may bye wrong . You need to ask MORE people & research that more.

I also LOVE my drawf gourami, he doesent get that' big, and just one would be a GREAT centerpc fish !! mine is :) and corys are AWESOME !! I love ALL< the green ones get huge, so becareful , *( again shrimp ) lol

I think you are having problems with alot of answers because you have metioned the shrimp,. no one wants to stear you wrong and EVERYone knows ALL fish eat shrimp . good luck, cant wait to see what you have put together anew ~ and as always shoot me a PM for any questions or biggies boxes of plants ,inverts, fish & shrimp (SOON) lol ~~~

My 29 right now has 7 danios, and I love 'em! They fun to watch, lots of colors (I have zebras, long fin zebras, 3 colors of GloFish, and a long fin gold). I'm also planning on a gourami for the middle/top, and 8 cories (albino and peppered), and 6 kuhlis.

I have similar plants to your list, higher light though, and will be doing some DIY Co2.
