JD was given to me by my brother, I am guessing he is about 3 years old. He is in a tank with a pokasimus (can't spell), a few shark looking fish, a small white w/red eyes fish, and a stripped black and grey fish with a larger forehead. The tank is 75 gallan tank. JD has been curled on his side for about 2 days now. he tries to swim to the top to feed and cant make it. We bought some food that drops so he can eat. What is wrong with him?

two suggestions:

pokasimus stabbing
gas/constipation

When you say cant swim, does he labour and sort of fall over in the water finding it hard to keep his head up and belly down etc?

If so its swimbladder disease.

HE is slightly curled. he has been like this for about 1 week. He does eat, but only when the food floats to the bottom. the pet store recommended we clean out the tank and use water medicine. I had the pet store test the water and they said that there were high amounts of some sort of bad stuff. My husband went to the pet store and my brother is coming over tomorrow to clean the tank.

not sure but we took the water to the pet store and they recommended a water change, like yesterday. I am cleaning everything out tomorrow. The pet store also gave us a water treatment solution of some sort.

Hey there, whenever you get your water tested please get the specific numbers for your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate. This will make it easier for other people to assess and help you with your problem. :)
