Well, here's the deal. Have a tank full of Barbs that with the intro of new fish are now being given the salt/heat treatment due to Ich. My Pleco however, did not respond well and quickly pulled the old tank out of the basement, set up and got him the heck out of the heated salt water. After a couple of days however I don't see any improvement. (Barbs are much improved and lookin good!) Scoop (as we like to call him) however, still lies outside his shelter on the side of the tank, tail to the top of the water. He doesn't eat from what I know of him. Have I burned him with salt? How do I now treat him for Ich? What have I done? ya know...for 4 years I had little to no problem with a nice bunch of Barbs..then one day....ahhh Poo!

there are ich medications that cater specifically to sensitive fish.. theyre usually labeled as "ich guard 2" or "ich attack 2" so look closely for them, they are out there.. then you can treat the pleco separately.

Thanks I look for those. However, if there is a more "natural" way (like heat/salt) that may help the more sensitive-types, love to know my options. One more question...when is it time to stop this? Are there obvious signs it's too late and better to not prolong the inevitable? Quality of life is a big thing for me.

what kind of pleco is he?

I'm guessing from looking at several images that he is a "Liposarcus pardalis"
