Pleco and Java Moss Compatibility...

In my 75 gallon tank I have 2 plecos... one common, about 5 inches long, and the other a gold nugget which is about 3 inches long. i have a bunch of driftwood in there and both of them love it. they are stuck to the wood 95% of the time. My quesiton is... I want to get some Java Moss and attatch it to my driftwood. Will my plecs eat it and kill it or eat it and die? has anyone had any bad experiences with Java Moss and plecs????

I don't imagine it would be a problem, just make sure you leave a fair amount of the wood bare for them to chew on. You might want to ask this over at www.plecofanatics.com, there are some REALLY knowledgeable plec fans there

I've got java moss and 2 plecos (a royal and a 3 inch gold stripe peckolita)and they don't mind the moss but they need some bare spots to suck on, so leave a bit unplanted Yes.

i was only planning on getting a little bit for now and letting it grow out itself. so i guess it's all good, thanks a lot

The worst that may happen is the plecos will dislodge the moss in their hunt for algae or a little chew on the wood.
