i was wondering what vegetables (if any), my pleco's would eat? Right now they're just eating the algae that's around and some algae wafers. I'd like them to have a little more healthy of a diet. Any ideas? (They're common pleco's, 2 in a 10 gallon).

Thats not a permanent home for those Im hoping
If you like plecos and have small tanks look for Peckoltia sp, or zebra pleco if your rich

I would return those plecos to the store or get a larger tank, as they can get up to 2 feet long!!!

As for diet, algae wafers, boiled zucchini, and cucumber are great.

I'm growing them for a little while then trading them in at my local shop (i hope), for some store credit. I don't plan on keeping them until they're full grown.

also should i chop the cucunbers up? one time i tried to, and they just floated around, not much good for a fish on the bottom of the tank. the pleco are still small (neither is more than 3 1/2 inches), so i wasn't sure if i could just huck some whole cucumber slices down there and have them go for it.

weight the cucumber down by using a stainless steel knife or some such instrument
