honestly my only quam about placing plecos in a cichlid tank are the diffrent type of water paramaters both types of fish take.
african cichlids are a hard water fish, that thrive in a very high pH. where as most plecos prefer a soft, neutral to acidic water type.
they can be acclimated and such but it woulden't be my prefrence to do so.
I have 15 plecos and about 12 tanks setup. Not one pleco is in the african tank (but thats just me).
