So I'm planning out my next "big thing" which will have over a 1000 gallons of water an hour flowing thru the system thru a 1.5" conduit. I'm considering putting a 1.5" check valve into the return system after the pump and after the ball valve.

Has anyone tried this, or know if this is a bad idea or not?

Thanks!

Check valves are often considered to be a bad idea because they can clog and cause you major problems. This is if you're talking about the type of check valves sold at Home Depot, etc. - the types that you can't disassemble for servicing.

Someone makes check valves that you can take apart and clean, but I can't remember who that is. If it comes to me, I'll let you know. Or, maybe someone else knows more and will post info here?
