supposedly they are common in my are being as my grandfather just told me he used to catch them and use them for bain, but otehr than that i have never heard of them either, can some one please fill me in?

trickster pup ALWAYS recomends these little fellas! They are cool and would certainly work in this set up - the problem is i dont know if they're all that common i've never heard of them before pup started talking about them on this website a year or so ago and i've never seen them at the lfs - maybe you can order some from tpup?

You can find them, but they are pretty hard to find. Either from aquabid or to your very good speciality fish store will have them. But the best way to get them if not through online is to try your local fish club. There is usually someone in the club that is a fanatic on live bearers that may give up a trio or 2.cdawson said:

Yeah, i love pimping these little guys.. My colony is pretty low right now though, so I dont do shipping. If you lived in the twin cities i would pass a few to you. I am planning on getting some more this spring and hoping to boost my colony.
This year I am gonna try raising some outside in a water garden and see how they do.
I guess the main reason I talk about them is to pass knowledge of this really cool livebearer and they are in fact the best fish for a 5 gal and under tank.

Ok, what you can do is try your local fish store and ask about any local fish clubs in your area. Then what you can do is go to a meeting and start to meet some of the people there. Its a great way of learning about fish and meeting new friends. But you might be able to find someone who has some of these fish and if you cant find any, ask me in May.
