Hey, I got some eagle eye polyps about 2-3 weeks ago and so far they are doing pretty well. for the first week they were only under standard florescent lighting until my lights arrived which are now on the tank. -- here are the lights that i got!-- http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewI...~idProduct~CU01137~idCategory~FILTFIT53U.html My questions-- How long do you think I should keep the lights on daily?-- that is the only coral and I have to occ clowns and a scooter blenny-- other than that just pretty much standard invertebrates. --

And also how long will it take for the polyps to start to grow/spread? -- Thanks a ton!!!--

PS.-- if you want more info on my tank heres a link to it!-- http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185618

If you can control the daylight and actinic bulbs separately, then around 7 - 8 hours for the daylight bulb and 9 - 10 hours for the actinic bulb (actinic bulb comes on 1 - 2 hours before and turns off 1 - 2 hours after the daylight bulb). If not, 7 - 8 hours, as that's about as long as it's good to keep the daylight bulb.

How soon and quickly the Eagle Eye zoas will grow will vary from tank to tank, as each tank's conditions are a little different. I would say, however, that once they settle in to your tank, they'll start multiplying pretty quickly. I picked up a frag of Eagle Eyes with around 5 - 6 polyps on it a few months ago and have 25+ polyps of them now. Our tank is lit a bit differently, larger, and has been running for more than 3 years now, but I don't see why they wouldn't grow well if placed in a place they like in your tank.
