Pond Pimafix and Melafix both appear to be ~5x the concentration of the aquarium version, but priced only ~30% more. The MSDS' for both does not show any different or 'added' ingredients in either one. Any reasons NOT to use them other than the hassle of dilution? I was thinking about diluting with distilled water to the "normal" strength and refilling my blue Pimafix/Melafix bottles.

MSDS-Material Safety Data Sheet; tells you what's in a product, and its hazards.

Don:

I have always (2 years) used the pond varieties for the reason which you stated.

Per the previous post I not do dilute prior to use but dose in accordance with the instructions.

Any chance of these chemicals losing there abilities to do what they are suppose to do over time?

Not suppose to buy too big of container of food, it will lose its nutrient value over time...
Not suppose to by Hydrogen Peroxide over its date, it will lose its concentration ratio....
Yada yada yada...
