pond snails

Is there any harm in allowing those hitch hikers live in my planted tank?I think I have about 5 1/4 inch big snails there are no ottos in this tank, and I just added amanos. If I don't over feed the fish the snails shouldn't be a problem , right? And if they get out of hand I can always squish them on the glass and let the fish eat them right? thanks

It depends on the species of fish you have stocked in your tank. Not all fish will eat live snails however most will eat them if you squish them.

`2 angels, 6 neons, 6 black neons,and 5 cories in a 29 gal that's why I said aquish them., I'm hoping to just control by not over feeding.

Pond snails shouldn't have any bad effects other than population booms if overfeeding occurs. I believe angels do eat snail eggs seeing I seen them do it before, and in time your neons could become a snack so be wary on that.
