poor gators

why do they kill the alligators that come too close to people and are "too large to be released." living in florida i get too much of that. i know i made like 5 other threads today but this really gets me mad. they live lives alot harder than most peoples and at the end of the road is death for leaving their pond.:angryfire: i need to vent
 
i feel your pain, alligators don't know what they're doing wrong and they get killed for it, it's their natural instincts to defend themselves and why do humans go that close to them anyway?
 
How are they too large to be released?

My buddy had a gator, it was so awesome. We would play the "fish game" at a party where we would each pick a feeder fish and drop them in the tank. When our fish got eatten we would have to take a shot. It was illegal to keep one here in Michigan. I think he sold it to someone in Florida he claimed. He was kind of crazy.
 
I like gators as long as they're on the other side of the glass from me.
 
the way I see it, its either me or them, And I'll pick me any day, same goes for snakes, spiders, termites, ants and any other nameless pests. we kill them in much larger numbers than gators, yet no one sheds a tear, why should this be any different?
 
I've always thought it was a bit hypocritical how people decide some pests are more worthy to be alive than others.

Snakes and mosquitoes are people too you know...

And although I like alligators too (especially on my dinner plate), I'm with cory. There's no contest if it's a him or me situation.

what makes you think we don't shed tears for them?
 
It would be a sad life to grieve over every "insignificant" life you knowingly and inadvertently destroy on a regular basis.
