How big of a tank would support 3 porcipine puffers? I know they get like aprox. 11inches? I'm going to buy the tank and set it up for a bday present, at my house.

Considering that they grow to a size of 36 inches (and, yes, I've seen them close to this size) I think the more appropriate question would be how large an aquarium you would need to house just one. And I don't think 300 gallons is big enough to house just one. I saw a full size adult in a 1,000 gallon tank and recall thinking the massive fish looked awfully cramped.

wow, those go on my list of common lfs fish for $20 that get way to big to afford.

This is a case where a picture or scientific name would help. In this area a Porcupine puffer is Diodon holocanthus. It only grows to 12 inches. They may be kept in groups and 3 should do fine in a 300.

yeah sorry, i wasn't going to go that indepth, i was just wondering... Porcupine Puffer written on a glass box in marker doesn't really help me with its information. I was just wondering the size for a few of them since my book with their pic said the size for keeping one, didn't know if that was just doubbled for two and so on... thanks though guys!
