With all the experience that are bad with Anemone's I thought I would post a positive experience. I bought a carpet anemone from a lfs. It was Dyed and very ill. with some help from max. It's now doing fantastic and has even grown. I doubt it would have lasted longer at the LFS. If you need help Ask max and I can try to help too. I will post pics when it Meanders out into the open

G.K.
I am very glad to hear that it's doing better and that the hole on the bottom of his foot is nearly healed. I thought it was a bta? I would still strongly discourage anyone from buying an anemone that was dyed ,"most of the time they end up being died lol"
In cases where they are slightly bleeched you can often times bring them back with the proper care. It's just that cases like g.k.'s where they have a fairly serious injury, bleaching issues etc. a recovery is much less likely and in this case something that deserves a lot of praise for the critter keeper .

You have to know what you're buying . If you have any doubts ask the lfs if you don't trust them ask them if you can take a pic and post here ;)

I'm curious about this too. Any pics of dyed anemones/corals?

I saw a real nice rose anemone at a local store, was an unreal shade of pink. I also saw a purple carpet which made me wonder. It seems not as easy to tell when they dye those tropial glass fish every un-natural color you can think of. Those poor tropical fish that have "tattoo" hearts on them, a new fad I hope ends sone.

It's Foot had Disintegrated and left nothing but the head. Now the foot is almost the same length that it was when I got it and it's natural color has come out. It's beautiful to see my little booger is a figher

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-09/ac/feature/index.php those are corals but, you get the idea look for unnatural colors or the animal being one solid color. Most anemes feet are a different color than their top in other words most species are two tone. This doesn't happen as often as it once did as we the hobbiest have for the most part stopped buying them. If anyone has any doubts ask and know what you're buying.

I don't know if you guys remember the Rose Anemone I posted about a while back, but I thought I'd let you know it's getting much healthier and the photosynthetic bacteria are growing back very nicely. It even has bubble tips. I'll post some pictures sometime soon. It decided to cling on to the bottom of my galaxea and I can't move it, so it's out of sight.
