Power head?

Could I use a 53 GPH water pump, and some how convert it into a power head? Is that even possible? haha

A powerhead IS a water pump, what (specifically) are you wanting to accomplish with either one?

Many powerheads (Maxi-Jet, Penguin, etc.) are basically small water pumps with a strainer/sponge and flow director attached. Attach something to block the intake so creatures don't get sucked in and it should work fine. Sound like rather low flow for SW usage though.

Well I have a water pump... with a little bitty opening. I was wondering how i could make the opening bigger I guess and use it as a powerhead

Why would you need to make the opening bigger?

So it would spray in a larger area as opposed to just a little area

Just use the water pump to mix your salt batches and buy an actual PH made just for water circulation if that's what you need.
