Has anybody ever combined these med's - used them at the same time? My favorite ram had a raw lip issue a couple of weeks ago, from agressively cleaning a rock to spawn on. I've been doing 30% water changes twice a week since then, numbers are 0,0, less than 10 nitrates. (I also keep purigen in the filter.)
Yesterday, she was having trouble breathing and her gills look swollen. There is also a red splotch under her skin under her gill area. So, off to the lfs, the young man talked me into gill flukes, I added Prazi Pro. DUMB mistake - I have run prazi through that tank before, nothing new has been added, how could it be gill flukes?
So, to compound a dumb mistake, I added maracyn 1 and 2. I really think this is a bacterial infection, brought on from her raw lips and a sudden ph change of .4 when I added diy co2. (I added it thinking it might help her fight off the infection ... another dumb mistake.)
So, I figure I should do another big water change, and just go with the maracyns which work well together. Or, should I just sit tight and wait. The prazi in incredibly safe stuff. (I should NEVER have combined it with another medicine w/o knowing it would be ok...)
Any thoughts? (She is my favorite ram and I panicked...)
