Well I finally got a real skimmer for my tank. I was running a SeaClone 100 but it didn't seem to really be working that great. I traded in my lights from my old 45 gallon(250 watt MH reflector, and dual 64 watt pc and also a IWAKI 40RLT) for a bullet 2 skimmer and Mag 9.5(I needed the submerisble due to space constraints.

I know they reccomend a MAG 18 but that seemed overkill based on also saying they reccomended at IWAKI 40RLT. The IWAKI had a 750GPH and the MAG 9.5 has a 950GPH the main difference is about 6' of head 14' for the MAG and 20' for the IWAKI. Do you think I really need the MAG 18 at 1800GPH and 21' head. Seems overkill.

Anyways does it sound like I got a good deal?

Well it appears to be working with the MAG 9.5 will update more in few days. Barely got this thing to fit.

What do you do about all the little bubbles that get in the sump then back to the tank?

Ok after running this for awhile, I have to say it is working awesome. They reccomend running a larger pump to get maximum performance but the MAG 9.5 works great in my setup and is removing everything you could imagine. In fact as a test I ran my Sea Clone at the same time and got almost no skim mate from it. I am guesing the bigger pump would allow it to run at tist rate 250 gallons but as I am only at 110 gallons with sump it should work fine. Just thought I would let everyone know this skimmer works greatand I would reccomend it.

Your experience (similar to mine) is the reason I always recommend purchsing one of the better skimmers on the market. While some of the less expensive brands(sea clone, prisms, aqua via etc.)will produce some skimmate, you can now see why I and many others recommend the "premium" brands available. I'm glad your happy with this skimmer.
