Hi all,

I'm moving to a new apartment in New York soon, and as such I won't have room for the tank-like dresser I've kept my 30G tank on for the last couple of years. So I've been looking into stands. The problem is that the nicer stands (e.g., Oceanic) are all for larger tanks, and the stands suitable for a 30G are kind of tacky -- or not my style, at least.

I've narrowed it down to a couple plain but inoffensive stands. A "KD Double Wood" (which I assume means particleboard) stand from AGA, and this "Stingray" stand from Big Al's. Neither of them is great looking, but they are basic enough that the focus would probably be on the tank.

I'm leaning toward the Big Al's model because of the enclosed storage space in the center. (I assume that's what it is -- the Big Al's description is somewhat lacking.)

Does anybody have experience with either of these stands, or suggestions for a better alternative? I unfortunately don't have the facilities or time for a DIY stand right now, so that's not an option for me.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can offer.

I dont think that is storage on the big als stand. I think it is just support for the tank.

After taking another look at the picture, it did look like it might be just support. So I called Big Al's to settle the mystery. They said that it's a door in the middle, with space for storage. Good to know for sure -- it would be a pretty useless stand otherwise.

I'd still welcome any other suggestions for 30G-appropriate stands that might be out there.
