should i leave her in the breeder box or let her go in the tank. shes been there for 7 or 8 hours. when do you think she will give birth?
please give me all the advise you can as this is my first time breeding fish.
thanks :help:
She does have a loooong way to go. I've had success in surviving fry if the tank was heavily planted. Java moss works best, basically so the babies can get in and hide and the parents can't get to them.
I took this picture from google....
They get HUGE when they are about to give birth, to the point where you think they are going to explode.
i put her in there because i found a single fry yesterday and i thought that maybe it was from her. so i put both her and the fry in the breeder box and today the fry is gone... she might have eaten him/her
yeah she probably did, another thing you can do is set up the breeder box with java moss in the bottom and leave momma in the main tank and as you see fry scoop them out and into the breeder net. IMO that will be least stressful on the mom and babies
