I'm thinking about getting a bigger tank for my lone blue gourami. Right now he is small and appears to enjoy his 10 gallon hex, but I know that wont last. Any idea how much bigger I should go to make sure he is happy as he grows? Any idea how much a 20-29 gallon regular aquarium runs for? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I dont know if it was right or not, but I had 2 gold gouramis in a 29 t gallon for years, and they seemed happy as can be. So I would think that a 29 would be fine for them. As for prices, I bought mine used, so I dont know. I wouldn't imagine that a complete setup to cost more than 150, but then again, I'm not sure.

Depends if you go acrylic or glass, what type of filter... You can get an All-glass and Tetra 55 gallon kit at Wal Mart for ridiculously cheap- full fluorescent hood, hang on back filter, but dunno about a heater- if I remember correctly it was like $160 for the whole deal. Not too shabby. Upgrading with a new heater and powerhead of your choice wouldn't be too much extra. For me, it was much cheaper to buy a kit and do small upgrades... I saved about $20 on the hood alone.

I already have a pretty powerful filter that would be fine for 20-29 gallon. So I don't plan on buying anything other than the tank and some type of hood/cover for it.

A 29 gallon (30x12x18) All-Glass from PetCo costs $55. Lucky for you I just happen to be selling one much cheaper in the classifieds forum!!
