Prime/Stability cycling...

Check params daily. Do water change if ammonia/nitrite is above .25ppm. Add prime before changing water.

Seachem advises doing this:

Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 gallons*) on the first day with a new aquarium. Then use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 gallons*) daily for 7 days. Fish and other aquatic species may be introduced at any time as long as dosage is maintained for 7 days. For optimum biofilter performance use 1 capful for each 40 L (10 gallons*) once a month or with each water change and whenever introducing new fish or whenever medicating an aquarium.

that's the instructions for stability. Personally, I would just go on with a fish cycle if you already have the fish. Less complicated and less relying on a no-guarantee product. JMO though...
 
I am actually on day 5 atm... with my current tank setup.

I have ~.5ppm ammonia and doing 50% changes to get it down closer to 0.. just no sign of nitrites yet... Trying to brace the fish for the nitrite spike and remember why I thought this was a good idea...

Water changes... Going to hate all this work if I bust the tank cycle and my fish perish...
 
try to maintain the NH3(ammonia) to less than .25 ppm.
nitrite may show up in a week or two.
keep adding the stability. it is suppose to have bacteria you need for the cycle. but those bacteria may be in hibernation. they will need time to 'wake up'

hang in there and keep up with the water changes.

TYTYTY.. It's a chore getting the ammonia down with fish in the tank.
 
Stability is a great product. I would go ahead and keep doing tests just to make sure eveyrthing is okay, but you should be able to put fish in anytime. I cycled a 150 with it after doing a complete breakdown/bleach. Had the fish back in within 3 days, never did register amonia or nitrites. Good stuff.
 
I personally don't think Stability did a bit of good for me- Still took a month to cycle- but other people swear by it. Could I have purchased an old- no-good bottle?

Absolutely possible.

Still, if you have fish in the tank already... yes, add stability- if there is a chance it will help it's worth it.

This is my issue..

I am registering ammonia... ~.5 atm after doing partial/and some larger changes since I started...

That is a concern to me. I worry i have a weak bottle..

that's very possible. That's why it';s good to still run the tests. It's living bacteria...sometimes living things die.

If you don't already have fish in there, I would wait a little longer. I would also look into maybe a fresh bottle of the stability. IF you don't have fish in there, I'm curious why you've done a water change. The reason the instructions have you do a massive dose and then maintenance doses daily, is so it accumilates. You may have actually set yourself back by doing water changes.

you say you're on day five and also say water changes in the plural...how many have you done?
 
if your fish aren't acting stressed ('gasping', rapid gill movement, loss of color, frayed fins, hiding, extra tight schools, staying near surface) I wouldn't worry about it. Stability neutralizes ammonia and nitrites, making them harmless to fish. However, they still feed bacteria, and still show up on tests. Even if the bacteria are dead, it still neutralizes that bad junk. It saved a pearl gourami when I was stupid.
