I have a 5 1/2 gallon tank with a betta in it and an apple snail. I am looking to add something else to the tank and I was wondering about frogs. Are there any frogs that would work in that tank? Any information is welcomed!

An African Dwarf Frog should be ok. I have that exact setup in my 5 gallon Beta tank... a beta, an apple snail, and an ADF. No problems for me.

Yeah, a couple of ADFs would work out fine with your betta and snail. You'll have to figure out a way to make sure that the betta doesn't get all the food though...lol...those ADFs are pretty incompetant when it comes to feeding.

I feed mine freeze dried tubifex worms by hand or with a chopstick, holding it against the side of the tank for them.......just to make sure they get something to eat. Otherwise, the betta hogs it all.

Thanks for the information everyone! I will look more into the care of an ADF.

Chop Sticks! I had never thought about that. What a great idea! I will have to try that!

i have kept bettas and ADFs together before. they would go at it occasionally, but neither of them ever got hurt. to feed, i would drop some food for the betta on one side of the tank, then drop some food for the adf right over his head, then use my finger to push it down so it was right on top of him and he gobbled it up.
