I have a 60 gallon with 3 small angels, 5 medium gourami, 9 small tetras, a cory, and a large pleco.
I had purchased 3 Ottos but within a day they had all disappeared. They replaced a medium pleco that I found half eaten with no other signs of disease. I also had 3 small loaches, and they were doing fine until I added the lage pleco to replace the missing ottos and the eaten pleco. Now I am missing 2 loaches, and I found another dead underneath a plant not eaten.
My question, problem is this: I think I have a hyper aggressive angel that is doing this. We have an evil angel that nips at everything, even the 6 inch pleco and I think he has stressed all the fish to death and the the feasts. I also think I have been underfeeding, I feed once a day and usually all the food is gone within 15 seconds.
Do you guys feel a super agressive angel could be causing this issue? All tests look great, I do my cleaning water changes, and keep a sharp look out. I found one of my weaker gourami today floating on his side hiding in the bushes, with an angel hovering over. I moved him into a hospital tank and added Melafix and Pimafix. I also added some of both to the overall tank.
Please help, I am lost as to this sudden loss of fish, especially since everything was very stable about a month after adding the small angels when we lost the small pleco.

I think you should just remove the angel that you think is super agressive into the hhospital tank and then if all your fish start to become themself again. You know for certian it is tht angel so if you want you could take it back to your lfs and get a another one and see how tht goes

Generally angels are not very aggressive but rather males are territorial. It is possible that territorial male angel is responsible for your loss of fish.
I hope your tank has plenty of hiding places?
What kind of Gouramis do you have?

Most fish will eat other fish after they're dead. You should consider the possibility the fish are dying of other causes and the angel and other fish are eating them after they're dead. Isolating the angelfish to either another tank or by means of divider would also help if you're pretty sure he's the culprit. I've never had any aggression problems from my angelfish though I've seen him gulp down some smaller fish in the tank.

I have one red gourami, one yellow and 3 dwarf gourami. I lost the sick dwarf gourami last night. I have seen the angel nipping at the other fish, and chase them around.
I can remove the angel and put it into another tank I have stocked with angels and see if anything improves. I do not see any spotting, larthagicness, or any signs of illness in the fish. The gourami we saw on its side last night and he died in the other tank with no signs of disease except symptoms of stress.
I have no problem removing the one angel, I have lost the smaller fishes so quickly and without signs of distress that I am not sure what type of disease they could have if any.

Also in quick reply, I do have a great deal of plant cover in the tank for the fix to hide and swim around. I lack any type of cave or inclosed areas at this point though.

Nothing has died or gotten sick over the past few days, I never did take the angel out so I guess I will continue to wait.
