Alright, there's a picture at the bottom of one of my goldfish who seems to be displaying some unhealthy signs. They live in a pond outside and it is important for their survival to hide when things go near them. So I see this lil goldfish in the shallow end of the pond by itself, not really moving. I look closer and it didn't swim away, it is alive and breathing. It only moved a little when I put stuff right beside it. If I don't help it fast it's going to get picked off. What can I do? The other fish are fine and healthy (I have pics of them too!) but I would like to save this one if I can!

the pic really doesn't show anything. any chance of isolating or quarantining it inside until you can figure out what's wrong or it gets better? a plastic bucket and an old filter is really all you need if you're willing to do water changes........

There doesn't appear to be anything physically wrong with the fish except it does not want to swim very far. I could easily catch it and keep it in a bucket but what can I do to help it?? I'm afraid the stress of moving it will only make it worse!

Well n/m this post because the fish isn't there any more which means one of two things: He's dead or he's well enough to swim into hiding.

If it happens again, immediatly remove it, or at least cover it in a half pipe or half a pot - something it can swim out of if it gets going again, but something it can be covered slightly so birds, etc cant get it.
