Hi every one I am new in marine fish tank so I need some help. I have a 29G biocube tank and I have the tank only for two weeks and I have a lots of fish from my christmass presents I got 4 peliculiar clown, 1 clarky, cowfish(pufferlike) 1 2juvenile emperator and 1 pyjama and around 20pounds of live rock and also I got 1 tongue coral so my tank is packed. the problem is that the sand is getting like rusty colour in it; is there any solution for it cuz I have to dive my hand in to clean it.....one more question is my tank has too many fish in it? cuz I am thinking to get a mandarin goby and a blue tank

Woah there buddy!! Assuming there was no typo in your 29 gal tank size, your tank is already WAY overstocked! I'm going to be straightforward with you (and I'm not being rude) but there is no way you are going to be able to support all those fish.
Lets see ...
1. The 4 clowns each will get to about 3" each
2. Not sure what a clarky is.
3.Depending on what type of cowfish you have, it will get to anywhere between 4" to close to two feet!! This will need a tank at least 75 gal and upto 125 gal for the bigger kind.
4. If its Imperator that you're talking about, again they grow to over a foot, needing at least a 100 gal tank.
5. The pajama cardinal will grow to about 3" (needs at least a 30 gal tank).
So, you can forget about the tang and the goby.
Not only is the size a factor, but each fish has its own temperament and not all fish get along.
You can see now why I say that your tank won't be able to support the fish, or the waste that they will produce.
Did you have any input into the types and number of fish you were given? If so, and again, not to sound rude of anything, but did you read up on the species before making the decisions?
If at all possible, I would take the fish back to the place you got them from and get store credit.
I'm not even going to get into the cycling of the tank part, since you seem to have added the fish before the tank was already cycled. More than likely, if you leave the fish in the tank, they will die from ammonia poisoning, or from fighting with each other, or simply outgrow your tank REAL quick.
I'm sorry my reply is so blunt but I wanted to tell you like it is without beating around the bush.

Has your tank even cycled yet? Most likely not since it has only been up for 2 weeks and you just got LR for xmas. Your tank is also seriously overstocked. The cowfish gets to be 18 inches when fully grown. The emperator Angel also gets to be very large. Both of these fish will outgrow your tank. Also, if the cowfish gets stressed or dies it releases a poison into your water that can kill all of your livestock. Your tank also is not old enough or has mature live rock to support a mandarin goby. The goby's primary source of food is the copepods that it finds in LR which is what makes them difficult to keep. I would advise taking back the cowfish and the angel to the LFS. Also, if you want to keep the rest of your fish you will need to do constant water testing and partial water changes while your tank cycles so that your fish don't suffer from ammonia or nitrite poisoning. The brown algae is more than likely diatoms which is normal in new setups.

i HIGHLY advise completly takeing apart your tank and picking up a good book such as the Consciencious Marine Aquarist. then when you have the knowledge and know how to care for your fish you can have a fresh start
once again, sorry to be so blunt... but i think it is what is best for the fish

Aye! its too common that people buy tanks for people as a surprise.. thats just waht a new tanks need to be a surprise! :sad: you should read up on it and figure out what to do.... but like i said on the other post .. sell you cowfish emperator clarkii and coral and cycle with the clown fishes

do NOT cycle with the clownfish or ANY fish. bring back all your fish and throw in a cocktail shrimp or two. cycling could easily kill your fish, and if not, it could seriously burn their gills form amonia poisoning. it is irrisponsible to put fish in a toxic environment on purpose. the cokctail shrimp avoids this. plus, you are spending about a buck instead of risking 20 for each clownfish. the choice seems obvious to me. haha

for everything else, there's cocktail shrimp
