Problems in my tank with gouramis

Just a quick note, no fish lost but most are still very pale. I took one of my gourami that had a red mark and a few white spots to my fish store, and they confirmed it was not ick and was more than likely a bacterial infection in the fish. They recommended using Melafix and Pimafix which I just started today, if anyone has any feedback I would appreciate it.

Weird things are afoot. I added Maracyn 2 and 3 days later all my gourami are all defecating a great deal. I had not seen any of the gourami have any type of movements for awhile, but now they all have long runners, so maybe they were all constipated and the medicine helped? Is constipation a sign of dropsy? All the fish seem so happy now, eating and pooping, any feedback would be great.
