I have a good growing Tiger Lotus (Nymphaea zenkeri) and I was wondering how to propagate this to a different tank (similiar parameters).

I have tried to research it, but not any luck - at least in detail. One place stated to seperate the plant from the blub. I would like to not uproot the plant, but if I have to, I have to.

Any ideas?

My Tiger Lotis propagated by sending out runners. I would then cut the runners when the small plant started to take root and move it somewhere else. I have not tried to propagate it myself.

they propogate different ways. I have one and the bulb fell off(I was a trying to catch a fish and the net bumped the plant) and the bulb made a new plant! the old one died, but that was because I didn't have enough light/nutrients etc. etc.
anyways, it happened again when the plant grew bigger and both plants survived.
now I have two plants and I see that one of them is sending out a runner, so pretty soon I'll have three! yay!

I've had more success with the red tiger lotus. My green lotus has only put out three runners in a year but my red has produced countless new plants. In time it should start firing runners out, and then there's no stopping it.

The root systems on a mature lotus are huge. They can be a real PITA to uproot.
