Protein Skimmer not working

Hey Folks,

I have a Seaclone Protein Skimmer running on my 75 gallon tank. It has not removed anything (no foam in the collection cup) since I've had it set up (since Monday of last week). I have adjusted the valve and it doesn't help. Could it be that there is nothing for the skimmer to remove yet?

skimmers do have a run in period, some can be a day, some a few weeks..what you could also do is remove it and wash it in warm soapy water and then rinse really well in fresh cold water..

When plastic equipment is made, it has a protective covering over the plastic at manufacture and this really reduces the skimmers ability to work right...
