Would a protein skimmer still work without a powerhead?

All skimmers require some kind of water pump. Some have built in proprietary pumps while others are interchangeable.

Short answer is that if you yank off the powerhead that's powering your skimmer it won't work anymore.

I had a berlin airlift 60, it was powererd by an air-pump if that helps

Mines was a Ps75 odysea so without a powerhead it was useless.

It looks like this. Could I get some information on where the water goes into the skimmer and where it comes out? Thanks
