Puffer eat steak?

I don't know since I don't feed my fish anything that they wouldn't get outside of their natural environment. I would think that steak and chicken would be very fatning to them though. I would wash outside worms off before use (I feed some to my Red Ear Slider Turtle whenever it rains here which is next to never. Dang drought!). Hope this helps.

I agree with MS. Outside snails & worms are ok, but I wouldn't even feed my fish the beefheart you sometimes see in lfs. Only a pirahna would eat that.

And only a piranha would be built to eat that...they eat mammalian-type critters all the time. As I said in the parallel post in General FW, microworms and baby snails would be the foods which I would feed a dwarf puffer.

I'm probably going to get scolded for this one, but if your LFS has too many baby mollies and are happy to give them away, that'll work nicely. Just as a treat. The puffers we have (figure 8's, but a dwarf should still be able to easily get molly fry) will chase them forever. Seems like a reprieve from boredom.

<<SCOLDING>>

No, not really...it sounds good, Voodoo, but I do have a question about size.

Are the baby mollies going to be too big for dwarf puffers to eat?

I wouldn't think so. Dwarfs are mini, but newborn fry are the size of pinheads. Besides, puffers have those nice little jaws to take things apart should the need arise.
