I had a mudskipper in with a GSP. While the mudskipper was resting on the slope in the tank, partially in the water, the puffer would nip at its fins, eventually killing the skipper. I would not recommend them as tankmates.

Regular cost for what?

As far as tank maintenance goes, same as any tank, if not more. Puffers need meaty food with shells. I used to feed mine snails, pieces of clam shell and crab legs to crunch on. These add more waste to the water than standard flake foods. I was doing 30-40% changes weekly with mine.

ok i heard about the weekly water changes:) i meant what would food cost and salt costs be?
About $40 for a bucket of salt that makes 150 gallons of saltwater, for brackish you would be using about half the normal amount so you get about 300 gallons worth out it. Other then nerites I'm not sure what snails can live in brackish, you could try setting up a 5-10g tank to breed your own nerites, or cheapest place to buy them would probably be reefcleaners at 65 cents a piece. Plus a few bucks a month on other foods like silversides, clams, krill.
