Last month, I stated noticing, that there were, a few purple or lavender splotches on the glass, in my rescue tank. Now there are close to 50 to a 75 of them.

Is this some sort of algae, Coraline or not?

Just prior to the splotches appearance, I noticed, a tiny lavender squiggly worm-like creatures, whipping through the water. Then resting on the glass, I just thought they had died and that was just their remains. But now, I see an explosion of these splotches, all over any smooth glass surface area.

What could they be? And is that a good or bad sign?

Tank Param's:

Amon 0.00
Nitrite 0.00
Nitrate 0.00
Ph 8.2
Phos 0.4
Calcium 460
Alk 3.5 mEq/l
Kh 240 mq/l
SG 1.02475

Here's the best two photo's I have.
Don't mind the Nerite Snail cleaning the glass!

Thanks in advance for any identification, hints, answers or advice!

Thanks,

Then those squiggly lavender micro worms or larva, are going to remain a mystery?

What all is in your tank?
My first guess is that something in your tank reproduced, but I couldn't even begin to guess what critter they'd be from. Sorry that's not more helpful.

Right now, all I have is a Clean Up Crew (CPC).

The CPC is comprised with following members:

2 Bumble Bee Shrimp (can't find the other 2)
2 Bumble Bee Snails
1 Blue Legged Hermit (can't find the other 1)
2 Scarlet Reef Hermits
8 Narsarrius Snails (can't find the other 1)
9 Caribbean Nerite Snails (can't find the other 1)
2 Mexican Cerith Snails (can't find the other 1)
2 Caribbean Cerith Snails
1 Glowing marginella (lost during tank disaster aka old post :" A sound no Aquarist wants to hear" - June 2010)

That's all folks

The newest crew members came in yesterday and are in the new tank.
Those are:

4 Nassarius Snails
6 Caribbean Nerite Snails
4 Red legged hermits
3 Blue legged hermits
6 Glowing Marginella snails

They are busy cleaning up the tank (cleaning glass, sifting sand and picking at rocks).

The Rescue tank has all the new life critters, but they will never mature in there. It's a bare bottom rescue tank and time is running out, before all are moved.

Some might hitch a ride over hiding in a shell, plant or rock, too. A mature new home is months away, I wish I had my 8 year old home tank back.

So who, could those purple or lavender guys be?

I think a fair guess is that some polychaete worms reproduced. They little squiggly reproductive portions are called epitokes.

just about every tank has a multitude of little critters that we will never see all of, you can look up amphipods, copepods, bristleworms feather dusters, fan worms..the list goes on..you will most likeley have all of those come in on your rock unless you have gone through painstaking steps to eradicate all of them
