I've purchases a python, which will make siphoning/cleaning easier. However, I don't know how to use to to fill/refill the tank.
I can't use it to FILL the tank... becasue I'm using BioComplete which has active bacteria. I have to pretreat the water.
I also can't use it to refill the tank without treating the water. But it sounds as though people do this. Am I missing something?
I puchased two things from Wal Mart that could help. One is a 7 gallon drinking water container with handle/spout.
The other is an 18 gallon rubbermaid storage container. I was thinking I could use the python to fill the tub and treat, then put the suction side into the tub, and redirect the outflow into the tank...
Or just fill the 7 gallon container twice and pour it in. (9 times for the initial fill)
Do I want to do 20 percent changes every 2-3 weeks(60 gallon with Fluval 404). That's just 12 gallons(maybe I should have bought the 6 gallon)
