Quartz crystalline silica sand?

I just bought some quartz crystalline silica pool filter sand this morning from a local pool supply store. Is this the wrong type of silica sand for aquariums or is this also safe? If this is the wrong type what should I look for in silica sand? Thanks you guys!

i have always used fine play sand. you can find it at home depot, lowes ect. pour the sand in a 5 gallon bucket and fill it up with water. this will help get the smaller particles out of the sand. good luck

Filter sand works fine. I have it in my 75.

Yep, it's fine.

That sand is pretty much the same stuff that the tank itself is made of.
